British Comedy The Mighty Boosh Debuts on Adult Swim Innovative Televisions Series from Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding Begins March 29, 2009
British Comedy The Mighty Boosh Debuts on Adult Swim Innovative Televisions Series from Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding Begins March 29, 2009 The Mighty Boosh will make its way to the U.S. on Sunday, March 29, at 1 a.m. (ET/PT), joining Adult Swim’s Sunday line-up. An idea originally created by Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding in a London pub as a sketch comedy has evolved from live theatre to radio and, finally, to a groundbreaking television series. All three seasons of The Mighty Boosh are slated to air on Adult Swim in 2009, beginning with the third season on March 29.
U.S. television audiences will soon get the chance to experience the fantastical comedic universe written by, and starring, comedians Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding. Barratt and Fielding’s characters were first created for their comedy sketch series Unnatural Acts, which soon made its way to three stage productions The Mighty Boosh, Arctic Boosh and Authoboosh. The live act was then commissioned by the BBC for a six-part radio series that eventually became the successful and award-winning U.K. television series on BBC3. In 2006, Barratt and Fielding launched their first nationwide tour The Mighty Boosh Live across the U.K. Their second tour Boosh Live sold out venues at 90 stops across the U.K. and Ireland and wrapped up earlier this year.
In The Mighty Boosh, self-absorbed wannabe glam rocker Vince Noir (Fielding) and the intellectually vain and self-proclaimed genius and jazz aficionado Howard Moon (Barratt) are in a band looking to discover “the new sound” and live alongside a freelance shaman, Naboo (Michael Fielding) and Bollo (David Brown), a talking Gorilla. Each season, The Mighty Boosh creates its own unique environment, taking place in a vast array of locales, including the “Zooniverse”, the Frozen Tundra and the Australian desert. All three seasons of The Mighty Boosh are set to be released on DVD this summer.
Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s network offering original and acquired animated and live action series for young adults. Airing nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (ET, PT), Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network, home to the best in original, classic and acquired programming for children and families, and is seen in 97 million U.S. homes.
Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, creates and programs branded news, entertainment, animation and young adult media environments on television and other platforms for consumers around the world.
The Mighty Boosh stars Julian Barrett and Noel Fielding as Howard Moon and Vince Noir respectively, first as two zoo workers and then as two would-be musicians. The duo often find themselves on wacky adventures - one in the arctic tundra, another in monkey hell - often ending with Vince having to save Howard in some fashion. Most episodes feature songs and other strange characters played by Barrett, Fielding, Rich Fulcher (Bob Fossil), Michael Fielding (Naboo), and Dave Brown (Bollo). Music written by Julian Barrett.

Jonathan Ross/Tour ticket raffle/Aftershow parties
* Noel and Julian will be appearing on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross this Friday, 5th September, on BBC 1 at 10:35pm.
* Aftershow party details for the tour are still unconfirmed. I am getting official confirmed dates through shortly and will send them out as soon as I receive them.
* Thanks to the unbelievable generosity of one very kind Modwolf who shall be named and honoured at a later date, we have 12 pairs of tickets to the sold out London Brixton academy dates in October which we will be using to raise money in aid of
www.rebeccaling.com
The Rebecca Ling Appeal,
Dave “Bollo” Brown’s neice – please click through to the website to see what an incredibly good and Booshy cause this is. As it’s for charity, the raffle is open to absolutely anyone and everyone.
We have the following tickets to give away
Mon 20th October – 2 pairs of row D circle
Tues 21st October – 2 pairs of row N circle
Wed 22nd October – 2 pairs of row J circle
Thur 23rd October – 2 pairs of row B stalls & 1 pair row D stalls
Fri 24th October – 1 pair of row D stalls & 1 pair row G stalls
Sat 25th October – 1 pair of row C stalls
We want this to be both affordable and raise a huge amount of money for Rebecca so we are going to raffle the tickets and the winners will be drawn from a Booshy hat with independent witnesses! We’re not going down the auction/highest bidder route as that rules out so many Boosh fans.
You can choose which date(s) you’d like to go for but unfortunately you can’t specify which row you’d like if you win. The best seats will go to the first out of the hat for that date.
Tickets are £2 per entry per date and if you want to be entered once into all dates then you can do so for £10.
Please enter as many times as you like/can afford as this is for such a great cause. There is no limit to the number of entries you can buy or the number of tickets you can win. We want to raise as much money as we can for Rebecca.
Paypal payments should go to modwolves@themightyboosh.co.uk - please forward your confirmation onto the same email address along with details of which date(s) you are entering for and how many entries you’d like.
Unfortunately we can't accept cash or cheques but it is free to set up a paypal account and link it to a bank or credit card account or chances are you know someone who does have an account and could do the transfer for you. Sorry about that.
We will draw the winning names on 10th October 2008 to give winners a chance to get organised and tickets will be sent by special delivery as soon as we make contact with winners so you’ll receive them in good time.
So, please enter as many times as possible and best of luck!
